December 8, 2004 - Over 300 attended the Smart World 2004 Conference at MIT, which included speakers from IBM, Microsoft, SAP, Intel, Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson. MIT faculty and industry leaders presented novel methods for distributed data management - laying the foundation for a revolution in computing and intelligent business infrastructures.
October 11, 2004 - David L. Brock, Principal Research Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Edmund W. Schuster, Research Affiliate, MIT; Stuart J. Allen, Professor Emeritus, Penn State–Erie, the Behrend College; and Pinaki Kar, an independent consultant working in the pharmaceutical industry received the Council of Logistics Management’s (CLM’s) 2004 E. Grosvenor Plowman prize paper award. They presented their paper entitled, An Introduction to Semantic Modeling for Logistical Systems, to colleagues at the 34th annual Logistics Educators’ Conference held October 3 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
