Abstract Personal Experiences in a Technology Start-up
There comes a time in each successful start-up's history when it makes the transition from "a bunch of people doing work" to a full-fledged company. Though this transition is always occurring practically, the cultural shift can quite sudden. Dr. Kniker will share his personal experiences with one such company. Specifically, he will focus on maintaining the engineering-based culture of a technology-based start-up during its first five years.
Biography Dr. Kniker is a principal at Analytics Operations Engineering, a manufacturing operations consulting company. He received his B.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University and his Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since joining Analytics in 1998, He has worked on a wide range of projects from process improvement to forecasting to customized optimization software for a number of companies including The Boeing Company, Superior Telecommunications, and Baxter Healthcare.
