harvest risk

A number of different models are used in agriculture for decision-making.  A basic principle of The Data Center is that through the combination of models, better decision-making can take place.

Researchers at The Data Center have done a significant amount of work in the area of modeling in agriculture.  All of the publications listed below involve models that were applied in agriculture, mostly in agribusiness.

Schuster, Edmund W. and Stuart J. Allen (1998), “Raw Material Management at Welch’s,” Interfaces 28:5, pp. 13-24.

Allen, Stuart J. and Edmund W. Schuster (2000), “Managing the Risk for the Grape Harvest at Welch’s,” Production and Inventory Management Journal 41:3, pp. 31– 36.

Agricultural references provides an additional list of papers involving risk and farm planning.
