Welcome to my website!! My name is Tomás Palacios and I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

I have been working on wide bandgap semiconductors for the last 8 years. These semiconductors are, probably, the most complete semiconductor family ever, and I am very interested in their use in four areas:

  • Power amplification at frequencies >100 GHz
  • High temperature electronics, power generation and conversion
  • Digital electronics in a beyond-Si scenerio
  • New concepts for biosensors and devices

In addition, our group is also very interested on graphene, a single layer of carbon atoms with a mobility in excess of 100,000 cm2/Vs. We are developing new devices to take full advantage of the outstanding properties of this amazing new material.

Please visit the Research section of this website if you want more information on any of these topics. And, feel free to contact me if you have any question or you would like more information about my group!!
