How we selected our winners

The entire MIT community was invited to vote on all our entries through the TechTV site. This popular vote was considered along with a panel of judges.

Our panel of judges was composed of faculty member Walter Lewin, three students: Kate Gandolfo, Mitra Lohrasbpour, and Bryan Owens; and five staff members: Gloriana Davenport, Amy Perez, Joshua Schuler, Jennifer Schmitt, and Karina Vielma.

Our judges selected our winners based on the following criteria:

  1. Shows what you love of engineering and science
  2. Speaks to non-technical audience
  3. “Real” (it’s not fiction, or PR fluff)
  4. Fun to watch
  5. Inspires curiosity
  6. Teaches or informs
  7. Production quality

Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to all who voted or came to our TechTV Expo. We encourage you to use the ongoing MIT TechTV community site.
