Individual students can apply for a number of funding opportunities—some
for their own personal projects; others for new initiatives
that involve other MIT students as well. Typically, Fellowships
and Service UROPs are for individuals (though some can be proposed
as team projects), and grants are for either individual or group
work. (PSC Summer Housing Grants are an exception.) Note that
in many cases, developing a team to carry out a project is more
compelling for grantors than doing it yourself: we like to see
teamwork, leadership, and the other good things that come out
of collaborative work.

staff for other sorts of activities. We’re also here
to help you develop ideas, advise you about plans and cost
estimates, and help you learn about how to be successful
with your application. |
