To hear about Greek life and sisterhood from real-life sorority women at MIT, please watch the following video.

Letter from the President

Did you know that nearly 700 women (a whopping 34% of the undergraduate female population at MIT!) are Greek? Or that combined, sorority women and fraternity men donate approximately 850,000 community service hours per year? If you watched the video above, you've already heard from some of MIT's amazing sorority women.

As an organization, Panhel represents all six of MIT’s sororities: Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Epsilon Phi, Alpha Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Pi Beta Phi, and Sigma Kappa. Whether you are a Panhellenic sister at MIT, a potential new member, or a parent, our website can tell you everything you need to know about sororities at MIT. Here, you can sign up for Recruitment, view some frequently asked questions about Greek life, and learn about what sororities are all about.

Our sorority women are inspiring individuals, who exceed in all aspects of MIT life, from academics to athletics to community service, and who pride themselves on being able to balance all aspects of college life. The cumulative sorority GPA is higher than that of the on-campus student population, and we have sisters who have started their own organizations and clubs on campus, done international development work in South America and Africa, conduct award-winning scientific research, and who captain some of MIT’s numerous sports teams. Despite our individual differences, we unite together to create an amazing community at MIT – a community based on friendship, respect, philanthropy, academics, and of course, sisterhood.

I encourage you to explore our website in order to learn more about the opportunities we offer to participate in sisterhood at MIT. If you have questions about anything sorority-related, please feel free to email us at sororities@mit.edu.

Sincerely,
Minh Huynh-Le
Panhellenic President 2009
