Congratulations,
Class of 2009!

A note to prefrosh:

Congratulations on your acceptance into MIT!

Now that you’re here, you may have some questions about Panhellenic Recruitment MIT style. If you haven’t noticed yet, sororities are a lot different here than they are at other schools. At MIT, sororities are about finding a place where you feel comfortable as an individual as well as feel supported by your community. The six chapters on campus are full of diverse and inspiring women: Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Epsilon Phi, Alpha Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Pi Beta Phi, and Sigma Kappa. Each sorority has a distinct personality, yet all are founded on similar values. Along with intangible benefits such as friendship, support, and encouragement, sororities also provide opportunities for academic excellence, leadership, community service, and networking. Take some time to explore each of the sororities that MIT has to offer and hopefully you’ll find one that’s right for you!

Please feel free to email sororities@mit.edu with your questions.

Best,
Marta Milan
