Student Life at MIT
MIT's student life is as diverse as its student body. The Division of Student Life (DSL) is the foundation to MIT's support for student life and coordinates a variety of services, including housing, student organization advising, athletics and recreation, and conflict resolution.
The DSL website contains a listing of DSL offices and resources. We invite you to explore the site to learn more about DSL programs and services available to students.
To get you started here just a few of the offices in DSL:
- Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation (DAPER): Physical Education requirement, recreation, club sports, intramurals, intercollegiate/varsity athletics, sports medicine, athletic facilities, etc. For more information email: athletics@mit.edu.
- Campus Dining: all aspects of food service on campus, including meal plans and management of food contractors. For more information see the Office of Campus Dining website or email: foodstuff@mit.edu.
- Student Support Services (S3) : personal counseling, consultation, minority student programming, women's programming, withdraws, readmission, excused absences, specialized student support, etc. For more information see the CSS website at: http://mit.edu/counsel/www/.
- Housing: coordinates all aspects of MIT housing, including the summer undergraduate housing lottery, undergraduate, graduate, and family housing; off-campus housing; summer and guest housing; housing operations and administration; evening operations and dormitory security and more. - Religious Life at MIT: from the MIT Board of Chaplains to student religious groups, counseling, private talks, program development, worship, prayer and more. The Religous Life page, contains information on MIT religious resources and contact information for the MIT Chaplains, related offices and programs.
- Student Life Services: from Fraternities, Sororities, and ILGs (FSILGs) and Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, and Transgendered (LBGT) support, to coordination of the Public Service Center (PSC), Residential Life Programs, the Student Activities Office (SAO), and the Latino/a Cultural Center.
