This section reflects a unique focus on the undergraduate student on the part of the Office of the Dean for Graduate Education. Through its various programs, ODGE works to encourage undergraduate students—both within and outside the Institute—to consider graduate education at MIT and elsewhere.

The Amgen Scholars Program hosts summer research programs in ten locations in the US and another three locations in Europe.

The MIT Summer Research Program and CONVERGE make a special effort to attract students who are members of groups underrepresented in graduate education.

Other summer research programs at MIT include the MIT Summer Research Program in the Biological Sciences and Related Fields; the Summer Research Program in Genomics; and the Biological Engineering Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program.

MIT representatives are available for networking and questions at several national conferences throughout the year.
