PDA/Mobile Devices at MIT



MIT Mobile Partners User Group

The MIT Mobile Partners User Group (MPUG) was formed for members of the MIT community who are interested in various mobile devices/PDAs, software, services, and solutions.

While the purpose of the Mobile Partners User Group will evolve over time, it will initially serve to gather input from the MIT community on what mobile solutions are necessary and desired. IS&T hopes to reflect this input and feedback into actionable tasks.

Due to the vast and rapidly changing nature of the mobile world, IS&T may not be able to accommodate everyone's needs right away. We will, however, work with the User Group to develop appropriate solutions and timing that will meet most of the community's needs in this area.

Mailing List

MPUG maintains a private mailing list (mobilepartners@mit.edu) for discussions, meeting announcements, and information of interest to mobile users. This list is for members of the MIT community only. To join or remove yourself from the list, use the following URL:

Resource for Using Mobile Devices at MIT

IS&T officially supports only PDAs and smartphones running Palm OS and Windows Mobile operating systems. IS&T is curretnly working on a Mobile Devices Release Project to provide support for other mobile platforms, including the Apple iPhone and World BlackBerry devices.

Please visit Mobile Devices Wiki to see draft documenations on how to configure different mobile devices for MIT settings. Note that these instructions are not yet fully endorsed or supported by IS&T.
