Government Funding Opportunities

To better guide MIT faculty and research staff to government funding opportunities, the MIT Energy Initiative maintains a list of open DOE funding opportunities for which university investigators are eligible to apply. Additionally, MITEI sends out regular e-mail notices to MIT researchers with these opportunities and other funding opportunity announcements. Learn more >

MITEI Seed Fund Program

The MIT Energy Initiative's Seed Fund Program supports innovative early-stage research projects addressing energy and related environmental issues. It is envisioned that funds will be granted across the entire spectrum of energy and related environmental research areas at the Institute over the next five years. MITEI CEEW postdoctoral Fellowships

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology Energy Initiative (MITEI) in collaboration with the Cyprus Institute applications for postdoctoral fellowships in the Cyprus Program for Energy Environment and Water Resources (CEEW). The Fellowship is intended for researchers from various disciplines, such as physical sciences, engineering, economics, social sciences and policy, who aim to conduct research in the areas of energy, environment, or water resources, and who have an interest in careers in Cyprus. MITEI Energy Fellowships

Named MIT Energy Fellowships are available for first-year doctoral students planning to study energy. As Energy Fellows, students are funded for their first year of study and have many opportunities to meet and interact with their industry sponsors. They also become members of the Society of Energy Fellows at MIT, an organization within the MIT Energy Initiative established to foster a network of students dedicated to meeting the world's future energy needs. MITEI Student Campus Energy Project Fund

The MIT Energy Initiative has established a grant program for student energy projects that promote campus sustainable energy and environmental practices that advance the broad objectives of the Campus Energy Task Force. Twice annually a committee of faculty, staff and students review student project proposals for seed funding and score them on merits of impact, community engagement, educational opportunity, and cost effectiveness.
