Look at your life and work through a Spanish lens.
An internship allows you to integrate your expertise in science, technology, or management with your knowledge of Spanish language and culture. By working in a Spanish company, Spanish research institution, or Spanish university, you gain both a Spanish and an EU perspective on the latest work happening in your field.
The MIT-Spain Internship Program is open to MIT undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent alumni. We offer three-month summer internships (June-August) or six- to twelve-month internships in dozens of corporations, universities, and institutions across Spain.
How it works.
Interview.
Sit down with us and tell us your goals for an internship in Spain. We'll share with you the resources we have at our disposal and discuss possibilities and requirements. We will also look at potential projects from host institutions.
Apply.
We forward your resume, statement of purpose, transcripts, and letters of recommendation from teachers or previous employers to organizations we think will be interested.
Selection
Once the company or research center selects you as a potential candidate, we will set up an interview with the project manager to discuss the details of the project proposal.
Reach agreement.
You and your host institution reach an understanding about the details of the proposed internship, including stipend and travel support.
Work with us.
We facilitate logistics — visa, internship agreement, travel arrangements — and work closely with company representatives during your internship. (See Practical info.)
Provide feedback.
When you return from your internship, let us know what worked and what didn't. We will evaluate the program from both the student's and the company's perspectives. Download a feedback form.
