Look at your life and work through a Mexican lens.
An internship allows you to integrate your expertise in science, technology, or management with your knowledge of Spanish language and culture. By working in a Mexican research institution, Mexican company, or Mexican subsidiary of an American company, you gain both a Mexican perspective on the latest work happening in your field. The MIT-Mexico Internship Program is open to MIT undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent alumni. We offer three-month summer internships (June-August) or four- to twelve-month internships (after graduation or while enrolled in a Ph.D. program) in dozens of corporations and research institutions across Mexico.
How it works.
Apply.
Fill the MIT-Mexico on line application; submit your resume, statement of purpose, transcripts and letters of recommendations to the program coordinator. (please note that the trasncripts and recommendations can be sent after you apply and are interviewed)
Interview.
Sit down with us and tell us your goals for an internship in Mexico. We'll share with you the resources we have our disposal and discuss possibilities and requirements. We forward your paperwork to organizations we think will be interested.
Review the host's proposal.
Once the company or research center selects you as a potential candidate, they will interview you over the phone.
Reach agreement.
You and your host institution reach an understanding about the details of the proposed internship
Work with us.
We facilitate logistics — visa, flights, housing, — and work closely with company representatives during your internship. (See Practical info)

Provide feedback.
When you return from your internship, let us know what worked and what didn't. We will evaluate the program from both the student's and the company's perspectives. Download a feedback form.
