Growing new collaborations.

Seed funds, including the Hayashi Seed Fund, give you the resources to launch projects with your faculty counterparts in Japan in the area of ocean engineering, nanotechnology, and environmental sustainability. Most support travel costs for faculty exchanges and are open to research in any area.

MISTI Global Seed Funds provide funding for MIT faculty and research scientists to encourage international collaboration and research anywhere in the world. In addition, six MISTI country programs offer country-specific funds. For more information, visit our MISTI GSF website.

Host a student.

If you would like to host a visiting student from one of our partner universities and research facilities in Japan, please let us know. We will explain the process and, if you wish, refer you to previous MIT faculty hosts so that you can get a full understanding of the experience.
