I have had an absolutely wonderful summer living at the Technion and working at IBM. My internship was impressively interesting. At IBM, I was surrounded by helpful coworkers who often told me that I could ask them for assistance with any aspect of my project, any time. They were competent and thorough in their work, as well as interesting people otherwise, and I became close with several of them. My project was directed enough to make it clear what the general design and implementation goals should be, and open-ended enough to allow for all sorts of thought and discussion about the specifics of our end result. During my time here, I've been able to travel around the country — to Rehovot, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Herzliya, the Dead Sea, and Masada. I've also learned some of the language. I could have been in Boston, working at a not-terribly-exciting internship with the people I'm used to seeing, but I decided to come to Israel — and I'm so glad I made that decision."
