Walking Guide![]() All MIT buildings and rooms are numbered. Letters such as "N", "E", "W" and "NE" specify to which part of campus the building belongs. (So Buildings 51, N51 and E51 are three different buildings!). Rooms are numbered as "x-y" (e.g., 6-120) where x represents the building number and y represents the room number in building x. University Park HOTEL @ MIT to Summer School (Room 6-120)Massachusetts Avenue (Mass. Ave.) is one block away from the University Park HOTEL @ MIT. Walk south along Mass. Ave. towards the Harvard Bridge on the Charles River, for less than half a mile. The main entrance to the MIT campus buildings, called Lobby 7, is on the left side of the avenue. Enter via the big staircase and walk along the so-called "Infinite Corridor". You will see that many buildings are connected along the Infinite Corridor. After walking through Buildings 3, 10, 4 and 8, turn right and enter Building 6 near the end of the corridor. The summer school is held in Room 120.Summer School to Eastgate PenthouseThere is a gate right opposite of Room 6-120. Walk out of the building through the gate. Walk straight ahead while keeping the big ugly concrete building on your left (it is called the "Green Building" and it is the highest building on the MIT campus) and past the black sculpture in front of it. You will see the Charles River one block away to your right. Go parallel to the River onto Amherst Street, and continue all the way to the end of the street. You will see another high concrete square building on your left, which is Eastgate. Take the elevator to "PH", the top floor Penthouse. Enjoy the view of Charles River, Boston's Back Bay and Downtown!Summer School to MIT Museum (Building N52)From the first floor of Building 6, turn left and enter the "Infinite Corridor", the corridor that connects Buildings 8, 4, 10, 3 and 7. Walk along the corridor back to Lobby 7 and out onto Mass. Ave. Turn right and walk along Mass. Ave., away from Charles River. Approximately a quarter of a mile down, you will see the MIT Museum on the right hand side. The address is 265 Mass. Ave. at the intersection with Front St. The entrance to the museum is upstairs on the 2nd floor.University Park HOTEL @ MIT to MIT Museum (Building N52)If you go to the MIT Museum directly from the University Park HOTEL @ MIT, walk onto Mass. Ave., which is one block away, toward MIT campus (to the right). The MIT Museum is two blocks away, at 265 Mass. Ave. at the intersection with Front Street, on the left side of the avenue facing a gas station on the right side of the avenue.University Park HOTEL @ MIT to IPCO Lecture Hall (Building E51, Wong Auditorium)Mass. Ave. is one block away from the University Park HOTEL @ MIT. Walk south along Mass. Ave. towards the Harvard Bridge and the Charles River, all the way to the riverside (Memorial Drive) and turn left. Walk along Memorial Drive for about half a mile. Building E51 is located at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Wadsworth St. Turn left onto Wadsworth St. Enter through the revolving doors at the intersection of Wadsworth St. and Amherst St. Wong Auditorium is a flight up from the Lobby.IPCO Lecture Hall to Faculty Club (Building E52, 6th floor)Building E52 is just across Wadsworth St from Building E51. Proceed up the stairs to the big platform with a steel sculpture. The entrance to Building E52 is on the right hand side. Take the elevator to the 6th floor.IPCO Lecture Hall to Fogg Art MuseumThe easiest way to reach the Fogg Art Museum is via the subway to Harvard Square. The station "Kendall/MIT" is just two blocks away from the conference site on Main St, in front of the Marriott Hotel. The fare is $1. Take an outbound train for two stops and get off at "Harvard Square". Follow the map below; go through Harvard Yard. The Museum is just out of the other corner of Harvard Yard at 32 Quincy Street, Cambridge.University Park HOTEL @ MIT to Fogg Art MuseumMass. Ave. is one block away from the University Park HOTEL @ MIT. Turn left and walk along Mass. Ave. A few blocks away, you will see the "Central Square" Red Line subway station on Mass. Ave. Take an outbound train for one stop to Harvard Square station. Follow the map above; go through Harvard Yard.
