Many Types of Events Require Different Needs

Facilities is one of several providers of event services on campus. The size and location of your event will effect who is best to help you with executing it. For example, some groups, like Campus Activities Complex (CAC), can help you with an event that is planned to take place in a certain area on campus. Their Event Planning Guide provides lots of information on holding an event at MIT.

Due to the limited amount of storage space on campus, many internal service providers are unable to supply you with a large amount of tables. In cases where you need more than a few tables, you may consider contacting one of MIT’s vendor partners. A few of those event providers are: Dame Associates, Festive Occasions and Peterson Party Center.

Custodial Services provides assistance with events that are held in the Main Group, those buildings that are in the center of the campus. Grounds Services supports events that are held outside.

Order Services

To order indoor and outdoor event setup from Facilities go to Service Requests in Atlas. Below is a list of some of the services available. Please order at least three days in advance.

Students may order items by contacting Facilities Customer Service Center.

Special Services (Requires a Fee)

  • Rearrange existing furniture for special events
  • Clean up before and after special events
  • Provide bins for trash, recycling, or food waste collection
  • Provide 6-foot rectangular tables, folding chairs, coat racks, or hangers
  • Employ attendants
