School of Engineering - Tiny Technologies

Overview

Welcome to the Tiny Technologies initiative website, the portal to research in nano- and micro-scale technologies within the MIT School of Engineering. A School-wide initiative, Tiny Technologies, or "TT," seeks, through advanced, interdisciplinary research, to create new knowledge and novel technologies in the fast-moving fields of nano- and micro-scale technologies. TT research covers projects ranging from atomic-level manipulation (e.g., nanocrystals) to the micro-scale (e.g., MEMS devices). It draws upon faculty expertise from departments across the School of Engineering and represents one of the broadest, most pervasive areas of study underway in the School today. These new developments promise to enhance our way of life in areas such as communication, healthcare, and transportation, among others. Learn more about the scope of our TT initiative at About. Information about the initiatives research programs and projects is available through our departments, labs, and centers. To explore opportunities for collaborating in or supporting the initiative, please view Getting Involved.
