Besides my job at MIT I also work with authors to get their manuscripts published, acting as literary agent and occasionally as editor.  In this activity, I am independent of any publisher and work to get the best deal for authors.  My fee in most cases is 10% of royalties.  There is no charge for reading submitted manuscripts.  All submissions are confidential.

Currently, I am working on placing a book that deals with the reasons for China's rapid economic growth.  My focus is to develop authors who have not previously published in the United States market or in English.  Experienced authors with fresh ideas are also welcome to submit manuscripts or proposals.  Of course, I limit my scope to nonfiction and I prefer to have general knowledge about the subject area of the writing.

An author since 1985, I have placed all of my own manuscripts with commercial publishers, including my book titled GLOBAL RFID (Springer - Berlin and New York).  Acting as my own agent, I was successful in finding the best outlet for my book.  During more than 20 years of publishing, I have built a deep understanding of the publishing market.

Interested authors should submit a prospectus to me via email at edmund_w@mit.eduAll submissions are in confidence.  There will be a prompt response on next steps.

For an example prospectus, please see what I submitted for my book.

I am currently working on placing a manuscript titled THE CHINESE ECONOMY: Mechanism of its Rapid Growth by Prof. Muzhi Zhou.  The prospectus provides some details about the book.  I will also be doing some editing for the English version.
