Multiregional Planning (MRP) Research Team

The multiregional planning (MRP) research team is based in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It conducts cross-disciplinary work both internationally and domestically.  At present, the international projects include (1) a comparison of energy-intensity trends in Brazil, China, and India and (2) regional restructuring implications of land-recycling in China.

Polenske at Sloan Award ceremony The Technology-Energy-Environmental-Health (TEEH) Chain in China: A Case Study of Cokemaking, edited by Professor Karen R. Polenske, wins the Sloan Industry Studies 2008 Best Book Award.

 

Professor Karen R. Polenske received special recognition from RK Pachauri, Chairman, for having "contributed substantially to the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)," thus contributing to the IPCC's award of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2007.
