Giving

MIT established the Center for Real Estate to improve the quality of the built environment, enhance the real estate industry, and serve the Institute as a focal point for real estate education and research.

Since its founding in 1983, MIT/CRE has introduced a coordinated set of education and research programs that have changed the face of real estate.

The Center's efforts are not without cost. Continuing to create important, original work with lasting results can be achieved only with support. (Download PLEDGE form)

A MOVING OPPORTUNITY - A New Home

The Center for Real Estate (MIT/CRE) and the MSRED program have just received a phenomenal opportunity!  We have been offered space in building 9 with excellent visibility directly off of Massachusetts Avenue and adjacent to MIT's main entrance - if we can raise at least $1 million from our alumni/ae in 3 months.  With a very generous gift from an MIT alum, together with Institute support, the project is fully feasible. I know that you, that we, are up to the challenge.

We will have our own identity with sufficient contiguous space to house the Center and its Programmatic needs. The plan includes a new, 66-seat; state-of-the-art classroom, office and conference space for MSRED faculty and staff, MIT/CRE staff, and - most importantly - spaces specifically designed and equipped to support MSRED students during their tenure at MIT.   Student spaces include a sunny and comfortable lounge overlooking Mass. Ave., private lockers, seating, a refreshment station, and a copier/printer area.  The student space also includes meeting rooms with flat screen displays and video conferencing technology, and a larger, similarly equipped conference room.
