The Biology Department is proud to host the Sackler Lecture, honoring Raymond & Beverly Sackler, international philanthropists with a deep longstanding commitment to support scientific research.

The Sacklers have been dedicated sponsors of basic biomedical research as well as many other areas of intellectual pursuit. Their Raymond and Beverly Sackler Foundation in the United States has sponsored research projects, usually for a period of five years or more, at numerous academic institutions of excellence, including MIT.

Dr. Sackler is a graduate of New York University and received his doctor of medicine degree from the Middlesex School of Medicine.
