In collaboration with Harvard Medical School and Partners Telemedicine, the MIT AgeLab invites researchers interested in health, technology and innovation to attend Optimizing Care Through Communication Technologies: Fulfilling the Promise of e-Medicine, Telehealth, Telemedicine, and e-Health. The day-long event will be held at the Harvard University Medical School. The symposium will include speakers from industry, government, clinical practice, law and research to address the role of new communications technology in delivering healthcare and how it will affect reimbursement, liability and risk management. Dr. Joseph F. Coughlin, Director of the MIT AgeLab, will keynote the event with his remarks “Are Inventions in Communications Technology Outpacing Healthcare's Capacity to Innovate?” where he will discuss the convergence of consumer expectations, the trajectory of health care technology and their impact on healthcare for an aging society.
