CREDIT LIMITS

Except in certain circumstances, MIT undergraduates are free to register for as many units of credit as they like. These circumstances are:

• Freshman Year
  
• Independent Activities Period (IAP)
  
• Students on Warning

Explanations and justification for these credit limits appear on each page. Exceptions to credit limits are granted only by the CAP: the pages listed above offer information on petitioning to exceed a credit limit in each circumstance.
