Location

The Center for International Studies is located in Kendall Square, Cambridge, across the street from the Cambridge Marriott and the Kendall/MIT Coop, and next door to the Kendall Square MBTA subway station. Parking in this area is very limited. There is a public garage on Third Street, half a block from the intersection of Broadway and Third Street. A limited number of metered spaces are available on surrounding streets, and free parking is occasionally available along Memorial Drive, adjacent to the Charles River.

MIT Campus Map

Our main offices are on the 6th floor of MIT Building E38. The MISTI Program is on the 7th floor, which requires taking the elevator to six and walking up a flight of stairs. A freight elevator is available for those who cannot use the stairs; please advise us in advance.

Public transportation

By subway, take the MBTA Red Line to the Kendall Square station. 292 Main Street is next door to the station if you’re coming from elsewhere in Cambridge, or across the street if you’re coming from Boston. The building number is difficult to find, so look for the MIT Press Bookstore, which is on the first floor of the building.

There are also several MBTA buses that stop across the street from our building: Routes 64, 68, 85 and CT2. In addition, on weekdays the EzRide Bus Service is available from Boston’s North Station.
